The rift between Xscape members and sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott has deepened, with LaTocha expressing disappointment over Tamika’s lack of support. In a recent interview, LaTocha stated, “I don’t put my family business in the street. That’s something that we talk about behind closed doors.” She emphasized the importance of family unity, adding, “If we wanna fuss and fight, that’s what we do. But when we come outside those doors, it’s love.”
Tamika, however, has publicly accused LaTocha and her husband, Rocky Bivens, of financial misconduct. On the Bravo series “SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B,” Tamika alleged that they redirected $30,000 in royalties to their own account. She confronted them, saying, “You stole my money.”
Legal Actions and Further Allegations
The situation escalated when Tamika revealed she obtained a temporary restraining order against LaTocha and Bivens due to alleged threats. “I was getting threats, I was getting text messages,” Tamika shared, explaining her decision to seek legal protection.
Adding to the tension, Tamika accused LaTocha of taking a gospel record deal that was initially intended for both sisters. “The contract that was meant for both of us, that she stole from us,” Tamika claimed. “She stole from me. That was our deal. And she took it.”
LaTocha has denied these allegations, questioning their validity and suggesting they might be fabricated for dramatic effect. “My thing is, was this for a storyline? Or is this real life?” she pondered.
As the sisters continue their separate musical endeavors, the public feud has left fans hoping for reconciliation. Tamika has expressed a willingness to mend their relationship, stating, “Life is short.”
The ongoing dispute underscores the challenges of intertwining family and business, leaving the future of their collaboration uncertain.
