Congratulations to LeVar Burton.
The actor has been named the recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 Emmys. It was reported that Burton will receive the award at this year’s first annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, which is slated to be held in person in Los Angeles at Wilshire Ebell Theater.
Throughout his career, the Reading Rainbow host has won a multitude of awards including 12 Daytime Emmys, a Grammy, a Peabody, and a number of NAACP Image Awards. Burton recently won a Webby Award for his podcast LeVar Burton Reads.
We recently reported that Burton will be starring in the second season of Blindspotting and that he will also be hosting the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee Finals this summer.
“Hosting the Scripps National Spelling Bee will be an honor. Like a lot of folks, I look forward to the competition every year and am excited to be a part of this wonderful tradition that celebrates excellence,” Burton said in a statement.
