Mariah Carey, often hailed as the “Queen of Christmas,” received a heartwarming surprise during her Raleigh, North Carolina concert on December 9. The singer’s twins, Monroe and Moroccan, presented her with a giant bouquet of flowers in celebration of her iconic holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” reclaiming the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Mid-performance, Carey paused as an announcer shared the exciting news with the audience. “We’re going to give her flowers tonight because we just found out ‘All I Want for Christmas’ is number one on the Billboard Hot 100,” the announcer said. The crowd erupted in cheers as the 13-year-old twins joined their mother onstage to mark the milestone.
Overwhelmed by the moment, Carey expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you. Wow! That was the perfect moment to find that out. It’s from the Hot 100? Well, thank you, everybody who helped make that possible. Thank you so much.”
First released in 1994 as part of her Merry Christmas album, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has become a seasonal anthem. The song initially broke into the Hot 100’s top 10 in 2017, climbed to the top five in 2018, and finally hit No. 1 in 2019. Since then, it has claimed the top spot every holiday season, with 2023 marking its 15th cumulative week at No. 1.
Carey took to Instagram to share her joy, writing, “I couldn’t have dreamed of a better time or place to celebrate the news than on stage with my amazing fans, my kids, and my #Christmastime tour family.” She also celebrated another major achievement: the song was certified 16x Platinum by the RIAA this week.
The moment also coincides with the 30th anniversary of her Merry Christmas album, for which Carey released a deluxe edition this year. Currently on her Christmas Time tour, she continues to spread holiday cheer, solidifying her title as the ultimate purveyor of Yuletide magic.
“This is what Christmas is all about,” Carey told her audience. And for the Queen of Christmas, it’s a reign that shows no signs of slowing down.
