Mario is expanding his role on one of the year’s biggest concert runs after announcing he will officially join Usher and Chris Brown for the remainder of their North American stadium tour.
The singer shared the news with fans through social media after making a surprise appearance during opening night in Denver. Mario confirmed that his guest spot would become a full-time role throughout the tour. The announcement comes days after Usher and Chris Brown launched their highly anticipated co-headlining “The R&B Tour,” which celebrates the genre’s past, present and future.
Mario hinted that his opening-night performance was only the beginning.
“1 NIGHT wasn’t enough! My bro Chris said we running it up the whole tour! LET’s GOOOOOOOOO,” he wrote while revealing updated tour artwork featuring his name alongside the remaining dates.
Surprise Appearance Becomes Permanent
Mario first appeared during the tour’s opening show at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver. His performance was met with an enthusiastic response from fans, many of whom sang along to signature hits including “Let Me Love You,” “Just a Friend” and “Crying Out for Me.”
Following the successful debut, organizers confirmed Mario would continue traveling with the production as a special guest. Singer-songwriter Eric Bellinger also remains part of the touring lineup, giving audiences multiple generations of contemporary R&B performers on one stage.
Mario described the opportunity as both personal and symbolic for the genre.
“R&B raised me and it has sustained me for over two decades,” Mario said. “Being on this tour with USHER and Chris is a full circle moment for me and for the genre.”
The addition gives fans even more live performances during a show already built around two of the genre’s biggest stars.
Tour Celebrates R&B’s Legacy
Usher has repeatedly emphasized that the stadium trek represents more than a pairing of chart-topping artists. He has described the production as a celebration of R&B’s influence across generations.
Speaking ahead of the tour launch, Usher said the concerts are intended to demonstrate that R&B deserves the same large-scale platform as other major music genres.
“Absolutely not,” Usher told The Associated Press when asked whether Chris Brown’s past controversies influenced his decision to tour together. “He’s my brother, and he’s amazing as a performer. That’s who I see. He works hard for his fans, and his fans support him.”
Usher also explained the broader vision behind the collaboration.
For him, the tour showcases the strength and longevity of R&B while honoring artists who helped shape modern popular music. He has said he hopes the partnership encourages more large-scale collaborations within the genre.
Produced by Live Nation, “The R&B Tour” stretches across North America through December. Stops include Detroit, East Rutherford, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami and Tampa. Several cities are hosting multiple stadium dates after strong ticket demand.
For Mario, the expanded role marks another milestone in a career spanning more than two decades. His catalog remains a fixture on R&B playlists, and joining Usher and Chris Brown places him before stadium audiences throughout the summer and fall.
Fans attending upcoming shows can now expect Mario to be a regular part of the night’s entertainment rather than a one-time surprise.
