Megan Thee Stallion has filed for a restraining order against Tory Lanez, alleging ongoing harassment despite his incarceration. According to court documents submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court on December 17, Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is accused of orchestrating online attacks through third parties.
Megan Thee Stallion Alleges Continued Harassment From Prison
“Even now, while behind bars, Mr. Peterson shows no signs of stopping,” Megan’s filing states. “He continues to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimization.” Lanez is serving a 10-year sentence following his 2022 conviction for shooting Megan in the feet during a 2020 altercation.
The petition claims that Lanez has used prison communications to coordinate attacks on Megan’s credibility, often through bloggers. Megan alleges these surrogates spread falsehoods, such as questioning the evidence presented during his trial.
One individual named in the petition is blogger Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, whom Megan accuses of being Lanez’s “puppet and mouthpiece.” Cooper, also known as Milagro Gramz, allegedly spreads damaging claims about Megan, including questioning whether she was even shot. Megan filed a separate federal lawsuit against Cooper in October for alleged harassment and defamation.
Adding weight to the claims, Megan’s filing highlights prison calls where Lanez and his father allegedly discussed payments to Cooper for her actions. In one call, Lanez reportedly responded, “Exactly,” when asked how such payments could be proven.
“Mr. Peterson is fully aware of the impact of the psychological warfare he has waged,” Megan’s filing states. “Yet he continues to deputize his supporters to attack Ms. Pete’s character and integrity.”
Lanez’s legal team, led by Crystal Morgan, is currently appealing his 10-year sentence. A hearing on Megan’s restraining order request is set for January 9, 2025. Lanez’s lawyers have not publicly commented on the petition.
This latest development comes amid Megan’s rising career. Now 29, the Grammy winner has used her platform to address issues of misogyny, online toxicity, and protecting Black women. Meanwhile, Lanez, 32, remains at the center of a legal and cultural storm that has captivated the hip-hop world.
