A former cameraman for Megan Thee Stallion, Emilio Garcia, has filed a lawsuit against the hip-hop star, alleging harassment and a hostile work environment. Garcia claims the incidents occurred during his time working for Megan, which lasted until June 2023.

Allegations of Harassment and Hostile Environment

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, details an incident in 2022 in Ibiza, Spain, where Garcia alleges he was trapped in a moving car with Megan and three other women. According to Garcia, Megan and one of the women began having sex next to him in the moving car, making him feel uncomfortable and shocked.

Garcia claims that the following day, Megan warned him, “don’t ever discuss what you saw,” which was followed by a series of fat-shaming insults and disrespectful behavior towards him. Despite the discomfort, Garcia stayed on, but noticed a change in how he was treated, including a shift in his compensation structure and a decrease in job bookings.

In the lawsuit, Garcia seeks more than six figures in damages, including unpaid wages, interest on unpaid wages, unpaid overtime wages, and other employee benefits. He also seeks statutory penalties and wage penalties according to California labor laws, as well as punitive damages and legal costs.

Garcia’s attorney, Ron Zambrano, stated, “Emilio should never have been put in a position of having to be in the vehicle with her while she had sex with another woman. ‘Inappropriate’ is putting it lightly. Exposing this behavior to employees is definitely illegal.”

Garcia emphasized the need for self-advocacy in such situations, especially in industries without traditional HR departments. He encourages others to seek guidance and support from peers or professionals.

Megan Thee Stallion and her management company, Roc Nation, have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the lawsuit.
