Mike Tyson has revealed that he doesn’t remember much about his fight with Jake Paul.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Tyson shared that he’ll perform better in his fight against Floyd Mayweather.
It’s going to be really interesting. I can’t believe it, since the last time I did this, I’ve fought… What? Two times, going on three times…I’ll do better in the next one,” he promises.
Tyson said that he lost his mental focus against Paul. Against Mayweather, he’ll enjoy the moment.
“This moment’s going to be over,” he says, advising, “Just enjoy it, it doesn’t last forever.”
“I’m just preparing and looking forward to it. It’s just a wonderful thing that could happen,”
“This moment’s going to be over,” he said., “Just enjoy it, it doesn’t last forever.”
Tyson’s next fight against Mayweather is slated for 2026.
“I’ve been doing this for 30 years. And there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Tyson said in a statement. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
In his bout against Paul, Tyson said he “blanked out a little.”
“I remember coming back from the first round, and Jake is doing some kind of…I don’t know what he was doing,” Tyson said, mimicking Paul’s bow in the ring. “And that’s the last thing I remember.”
“The day after, I woke up and said to my wife, ‘Why did I do that?’ I just don’t know what the hell was going on,” Tyson added.
Tyson said he’ll speak further on “things that happened during my first fight with Jake” and his “ideology about all that” in his “Return of the Mike,” his upcoming show.
