Miranda Maday is setting the record straight about her marriage to actress and former The View co-host Raven-Symoné.

In a resurfaced clip from the couple’s podcast, Tea Time with Raven and Miranda, Maday shut down speculation that she tied the knot for financial gain. When the subject of money came up, she playfully fired back: “I didn’t marry Raven for money, I’m richer!”

The clip, originally from a June episode, quickly went viral as fans reacted to Maday’s bold response. Her statement comes after years of online chatter questioning the couple’s relationship dynamics, particularly around Raven’s long-standing success in Hollywood.

Following the resurfaced clip, Maday faced online backlash. “The emasculation of Raven Symoné,” some fan reacted. “Raven still can’t see the jealous, racist enemy right next to her. That is so sad” reacted another.

Previous backlash:

This isn’t the first time Maday faced online criticism following comments concerning her relationship. As previously reported, Symoné and Maday addresses the backlash they’ve been receiving.

Symoné begins, “I’m here with Miranda, my wife, to tell you to stop it in the comments. And stop with the death threats in her DMs,” the actress said. “It is disrespectful to her, and in turn it’s disrespectful to me.”

The threats began after a podcast episode where Maday seemingly didn’t know the words to a Cheetah Girls song. Fans debated if Maday knew of her wife’s success after she said she didn’t watch Symone’s popular hit TV show That’s So Raven.

“I hope to clear the air right now and let you all know that I never have once said that I did not know who Raven was- I only ever said that I did not grow up watching That’s So Raven. I did not watch her as a child,” Pearman Maday said.

“But since getting married and meeting her in 2015, I have seen the majority of her work. I have also been at a lot of this work,” Pearman-Maday continued. “So I mean, backstage at The View, 25 Words or Less, the list goes on and on.”
