The Native Land Podcast comprised of hosts TV personality and political analyst, Tiffany Cross, lawyer and commentator, Angela Rye, and former Florida gubernatorial candidate, Andrew Gillum has a new co-host joining – CNN political commentator, Bakari Sellers.

Over the weekend (Oct 5) Rye took to instagram with a cryptic message that the Native Land Podcast, which debuted Jan 2024, held their last show as a trio.

She captioned:

We held our last show, as the three of us together, at @culturecon yesterday. I don’t know that I would have made it without this show. While I can’t wait for our respective next chapters and am so grateful to be able to cheer the fam on, I will forever cherish our journey.?

Panicked responses ensued with one Instagram user writing, “People in the comments are having straight up heart palpitations!!! Y’all play too much, but I’m so glad you’re adding a new host to the crew!” Jamal Bryant wrote, “I object your honor!!”

But the co-hosts calmed down the worry the following day with an announcement post of Sellers.

Bakari Sellers is a Former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives and 2014 Democratic Nominee for Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina. Per Bossip, Sellers wrote in a press release,

“At a time when fundamental American principles like free speech are under attack, platforms like Native Land Pod are essential for truthtelling and fueling the discourse our democracy needs,” said Sellers. “It’s an honor to join Angela, Tiffany, and Andrew to break down the consequential issues shaping our future and reach our people with honesty and clarity.”
