NIa Long is set to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She will receive the 2,857th star in the Motion Pictures category, honoring a career spanning more than four decades, on Sept. 16.
Featuring guest speeches from icon Snoop Dogg and film producer Graham King, the event marks a milestone celebration of her enduring cultural legacy and contributions to cinema.
Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer, announced that Long is one of the latest honorees and lauded her for her remarkable career.
”The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Nia Long to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Martinez. “Nia is such a beloved and talented actress, and we’re so excited to celebrate her incredible career with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has brought so many unforgettable characters to life. And has connected with audiences for decades. It’s wonderful to see her receive this well-deserved honor.”
LONG’S REMARKABLE CAREER
An award-winning American actress and director, Long has had defining roles across Black cinema and mainstream television. She gave breakout performances in seminal 1990s projects like Boyz n the Hood, Friday, Love Jones, and Soul Food. On TV, she played Lisa Wilkes on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Over her illistious career, she has earned three NAACP Image Awards and a Black Reel Award for acclaimed titles such as The Best Man franchise and the procedural drama Third Watch. In her latest film, Long played Katherine Jackson in the blockbuster biopic Michael.
Beyond acting, Long has directed music videos, produced films like Netflix’s Fatal Affair. She’s also dedicated time to youth-focused philanthropy and women’s empowerment initiatives.
Long’s upcoming memoir will be published by Gallery Books, and in 2024 she was a Grammy nominee, appearing on Janelle Monáe’s The Age of Pleasure, which was nominated for Album of the Year.
