Nick Cannon said he had to cultivate a “big personality” to get the attention of the ladies.
During the latest episode of his podcast, Nick Cannon at Night he was with one of the mothers of his children, Bre Tiesi. Also, women’s health specialist Dr. Kerryanne Perkins was on the show. A fan asked the panel if they’d feel comfortable being with someone that they weren’t physically attracted to. Cannon then shared that he’s always “struggled with his looks.”
“And I know as a man, just, all my life, I was a little scrawny little kid. And I never led with looks,” said Cannon. “I always like, yo, I was little, so I had to have a big personality. I had to talk my way into getting a girl to like me.”
“Women were like, ‘Oh, you’re going to be so cute when you get older.’ I was like, ‘I’m older than you.”That was my gift and my curse,” Cannon recalled. It never really mattered to me what I looked like because I never thought I was this handsome individual anyway.”
“But I feel like it built up all of these other attributes because I was like, ‘Look, I’mma have to keep up with the light-skinned, curly-haired dudes that get all the girls.’ So, in that vibe, I feel like it made me a more well-rounded individual than some of the guys that were just relying on being pretty boys,” he added.
The strategy has worked wonders as Cannon has fathered 12 children. He shares twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe, with his ex-wife, singer Mariah Carey.
With Brittany Bell, Cannon has three children: son Golden Sagon daughter Powerful Queen ), and son Rise Messiah.
Cannon welcomed his second set of twins, sons Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, with Abby De La Rosa. They also share a daughter, Beautiful Zeppelin
With Alyssa Scott, he has a son Zen, who passed away from brain cancer at five months old in December 2021. Their daughter, Halo Marie, a year later
Cannon also shares son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi and daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole.
