Hip Hop icon Nicki Minaj is among the latest celebrities to distribute relief supplies to communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

Minaj, through her Barbz Foundation, has organized teams across Jamiaca to assist residents and families affected by the disaster. Members of the foundation were seen in shirts with the logo ‘The Barbz Foundation’ as they distributed relief items to residents in western Jamaica, including stoves, regulators and containers of cooking gas as well as food packages.

The kind gesture yielded much praise towards the “Super Bass” singer. “Huge relief! Our family friend’s brother, missing since the hurricane in Jamaica’s 🇯🇲 Westmoreland Shores, has been found safe and talked to his sister! He even saw Nicki Minaj’s team gathering essentials for help. A major thank you to @NICKIMINAJ—this is an absolute blessing!,” a user wrote on X.

“Nicki has her team out in Jamaica giving aid to everyone. The Queen dis oing Queen’s works helping the ppl ‼️ much loveeeeee Nicki 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾😇😇😇😇🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹,” another added.

Hurricane Melissa made landfall in the southwest of Jamaica as a powerful Category 5 storm, devastating sections of western Jamaica and leaving many residents homeless and without potable water and electricity.

“We have to give God thanks we are alive. We could be dead. But everything is gone. I don’t have anything left now,” Taylor, a resident of Catherine Hall, Montego Bay, said per The Guardian.

Minaj isn’t the only performer using her star power to provide relief to those impacted. Sean Paul, a native of Jamaica, pledged $50k to match donations to Food For The Poor Jamaica.

Performing artists Skeng and Shaniel Muir have also provided aid to Jamaica residents.
