The official documentary about the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard will be released very soon.
The two-hour documentary, “Ol’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirtys” will premiere on A&E Networks on August 25. It will focus on the life of the founding member of the legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan.
The documentary will feature never before seen footage shot by the rapper’s wife, Icelene Jones. It will also include interviews from ODB’s closest friends, colleagues, and family including Mariah Carey, Ghostface Killah, and record executives. It will also take a deep dive into his trauma-filled childhood, solo career from the release of his solo album in 1995, and his untimely passing in 2004 from a drug overdose.
ODB was born Russell Jones in Brooklyn, NY in 1968. Throughout his career, he developed a unique sound and style that set him apart from everyone else.
The documentary was co-directed by award-winning director, Sam Pollard and his son, Jason Pollard. It was produced by Pulse Films, Ol’ Dirty Bastard Estate in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment and Four Screens.
