During last night’s BET Award Show, Patti LaBelle did a tribute to Tina Turner; however, it wasn’t what fans were expecting.

While performing Turner’s 1989 song “The Best,” LaBelle struggled to get through the performance after fans began to block the teleprompter unintentionally. The singer would ad-lib the lyrics and say to the audience, “What if I can’t see the words, I don’t know! I’m trying, y’all!’

In an interview before her performance, LaBelle gave Tina all of the love and respect she deserved and said, “Tina was a trailblazer and someone I have a tremendous amount of respect for.”

We reported that Tina Turner passed away at the age of 83 in her home in Switzerland.

But fans were quick to react to LaBelle’s performance and shared their thoughts on social media. See what some of them had to say below.
