Legendary rapper, Pepa, of Salt-N-Pepa, is claiming that she was kicked off of a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Nashville.
Reports say that the rapper purchased two seats due to a leg injury she sustained from a car crash in 2018. While on the plane, a flight attendant told her that she could only have one seat because her leg wasn’t in a cast, however, she was wearing a knee brace. Pepa was allowed to keep her seat after going back and forth with the flight attendants.
Later on, a man asked if he could have the empty seat because he was going to a funeral. Pepa then went back and forth with the man, who ended up taking the seat. She then advised her assistant to record the whole ordeal. Minutes later she was kicked off the plane and according to the airlines, it was because she was recording and that they didn’t feel safe flying with her.
She posted a video on her Instagram as she was speaking with Southwest Airlines employees about the situation.
Pepa was reimbursed $2,500 for the seat by the airline but it is unclear if she was reimbursed for the $300 she paid for wheelchair assistance and the $500 for a car service. She is also looking into taking legal action in regard to ADA violations.
