According to TMZ, rapper Tory Lanez was stabbed during his incarceration at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.

The outlet reports that Lanez, also known as Daystar Peterson, was rushed by ambulance to a nearby civilian hospital in Bakersfield.

Motivation for the stabbing is currently unknown.

On August 8 2023, Lanez was sentenced to 10 years for assault with a semiautomatic firearm with the enhancement of use of a firearm as well as the manufacturing, sale, or possession of a firearm not recognizable as a firearm, according to CDCR.

The 2020 shooting resulted in hip-hop superstar Megan Thee Stallion being wounded. She previously opened up about the emotional toll the fallout from the incident took on her, in addition to the physical challenges.

“A lot of people didn’t treat me like I was human for a long time,” she told Women’s Health in a cover story published April 2024. “I feel like everybody was always used to me being the fun and happy party girl. I watched people build me up, tear me down, and be confused about their expectations of me.”

Megan continued, “As a Black woman, as a darker Black woman, I also feel like people expect me to take the punches, take the beating, take the lashings, and handle it with grace. But I’m human.

Last year, Megan Thee Stallion filed a request for a restraining order against Lanez, claiming he was orchestrating a harassment campaign against her from behind bars, conspiring with “bloggers” who post what she claims are defamatory statements about her on social media, questioning the veracity of her claims against Peterson and the evidence that was presented at his criminal trial.

A Los Angeles judge approved the restraining order request in January.
