Wendy Osefo, star of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were arrested for fraud in Maryland.
According to PageSix, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Westminster, Md., arrested and accused the couple of insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and making a false statement to a police officer.
After being taken into custody on Thursday, “they are in the process of being released after placing a $50,000 bond each.”
The police report stated that the couple claimed designer bags and jewelry were burglarized from their bedroom in Jamaica in April 2024. Wendy was allegedly seen wearing one of the diamond rings in a social media post after the claims were made.
Following a police investigation, it was discovered that the items that had been stolen had been purchased. Then the items were taken to each store, where a full refund was provided prior to the alleged burglary.”
The authorities stated that “there was a screen with damage laying on the roof, and the window was not locked.” Also, “to go in or out of that window, one has to step on the toilet.”
The toilet lid was down and had no debris on it,” the docs read. “When Sheriff’s office personnel stepped onto the roof and back into the home, they tracked roof ‘grit’ back inside.”
“The Osefos had an ADT system and a ring camera. The Osefos activated the ADT alarm system upon leaving for vacation,” the documents read. “There was activity, such as package deliveries, on the ring camera that was monitored remotely by the Osefos.”
Wendy is facing a total of 15 charges. She’s charged with seven felony false/misleading info fraud in excess of $300. Also, seven misdemeanor on-False/mislead info fraud in excess of $300, and a misdemeanor charge of a false statement to an officer.
Eddie is facing 18 charges. He’s charged with nine felony false/misleading info fraud in excess of $300. Also, eight misdemeanor on-False/mislead info fraud in excess of $300, and a misdemeanor charge of a false statement to an officer.
