Rick Ross has announced his interest in producing a big-budget movie about the Black Mafia Family (BMF), aiming to bring their story to theaters. The rapper made his intentions clear in a series of Instagram posts, hinting at possible high-profile directors for the project. This comes amid growing tensions between Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and BMF leader Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory.

“I WANT TO DO A REAL BMF MOVIE, THEATERS ONLY,” Ross declared on his Instagram Stories, sharing an image of himself alongside Big Meech. The post also promoted Meech’s welcome-back concert in Miami on February 13, celebrating his release from prison in October 2024.

Ross expressed his vision for the film, criticizing the STARZ television series BMF, which 50 Cent currently produces. “I do want to do a BMF film because you’ve been entertained by a lackluster, small-budget series. Now it’s time to do a big-budget film,” Ross stated. He mentioned potential directors such as Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction), and F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton), emphasizing his ambition for the project. “It’s a lot of legends. This is gon’ be big, I can feel it.”

Ross’s announcement comes as tensions escalate between 50 Cent and Big Meech. Recently, 50 accused Meech of snitching, posting an image of a rat along with the caption, “I think I’m Big Meech,” a reference to Ross’s 2010 hit B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast).

In response, Ross mocked 50 Cent in a video, sarcastically imitating him. “He took a picture with Rick Ross!” he exclaimed before adding, “You like a hoe, n**a! Put your back against the wall and just slide down.”

The conflict has raised questions about the future of the BMF TV series. After a leaked text exchange with Lil Meech, 50 hinted at ending the show. “What next season little [ninja]?” he wrote. Meanwhile, Ross appears determined to bring his version of the BMF story to the big screen, potentially shaking up the narrative and reigniting his rivalry with 50 Cent.
