Tina Turner was one of the world’s trailblazing rock stars. Throughout her career, she has sold 200 million albums and has won a total of 9 Grammy Awards. She burst onto the music scene during the 1960s as part of the Ike and Tina Revue.
In 1962, she and Ike would get married and go on to release hits such as “Nutbush City Limits,” “River Deep, Mountain High, “Proud Mary” and more. The duo didn’t last long, in 1978 they were divorced and many years later it was revealed that Tina was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of Ike Turner in the autobiography, What’s Love Got To Do With It.
During the 1980s, she would make a huge comeback with her album, “Private Dancer”, which included, “I Can’t Stand The Rain” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, the same title as the movie.
In 2019, Tina Turner was honored with a Broadway Musical. She will be truly missed. We will continue to keep her family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
