Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders faced more than a tough first game on Sunday. While he was on the field making his NFL debut, sources say his home was broken into.

According to multiple reports, the break-in occurred as Sanders took over in the second half of the Browns’ 23–16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

It remains unclear if anything was stolen. At this time, no suspects have been publicly identified. Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot later confirmed the incident.

This is not an isolated incident in the NFL. Over recent seasons, other prominent players—including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow—have had their homes targeted while they played.

Sanders’ Rough First Appearance

Sanders was thrust into play after starter Dillon Gabriel entered concussion protocol at halftime. He completed just 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards, threw an interception, and was sacked twice. Afterward, he was candid in his assessment: “I don’t think I played good at all,” he told ESPN.

Despite the rough outing, veteran teammate Myles Garrett defended Sanders. Garrett said Sanders addressed the locker room and “wanted to pin it on himself. I wouldn’t allow him to do that. It’s a team game.”

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski also expressed confidence in Sanders’ future, noting that he trusts all of his players to perform under pressure.
