The Isley Brothers are officially cementing their legacy in Hollywood history.

On Wednesday, January 28 at 11:30 a.m. PT, the iconic group will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7051 Hollywood Blvd. The honor is one that is long overdue for one of the most influential groups in Black music history.
The ceremony is set to be a star-studded celebration. Jon Platt, Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Publishing, and Grammy-winning producer and songwriter Terry Lewis will deliver remarks, while KTLA entertainment anchor Melvin Robert serves as emcee. It’s a fitting lineup for a group whose sound helped define generations of soul, funk, R&B, and hip-hop.
Isley Legacy
From “Shout,” to “It’s Your Thing,” The Isley Brothers have dominated the charts with multiple decades of hits. Their impact also translated into chart-topping albums as well. The Isley brothers founded their group back in 1954, and rose to prominence with their hit “Shout.” It was later followed by “Twist and Shout,” before the group would to launch their own record label, T-Neck Records. They released the Grammy-winning hit “It’s Your Thing” in 1969 under the label. Over 60 artists have covered the track following its release.
Already inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and welcomed into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Isleys’ résumé is unmatched. They are also one of the most sampled groups of all-time. Their music has fueled hits for Jay-Z, Drake, The Notorious B.I.G. and more.
