“Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross” has officially been renewed for a second season following its triumphant debut on The Roku Channel. Roku Originals confirmed today, August 7, 2025, that the travel series has become the most-watched unscripted show in Roku’s history, prompting the renewal announcement.

Success on Her Own Terms

From the moment it premiered on July 25, 2025, Tracee Ellis Ross’s travel documentary struck a chord with viewers. The first season followed the actress through Morocco, Mexico, and Spain, blending travel scenes with candid personal reflection.

Ross expressed her gratitude, saying plainly, “’Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross’ is the #1 unscripted show in Roku history, and now we get to do it all again with a Season 2!”

She continued: “My cup runneth over,” as she thanked Roku, the production team, and—for good measure—“all the solo travelers out there.”

What’s Next for Season 2

Roku’s head of Originals, Brian Tannenbaum, hailed her storytelling as “a new gold standard for unscripted storytelling,” noting that “the response from our streamers has been overwhelming.”

While Season 1 spanned three destinations, Season 2 promises fresh locales and more immersive journeys—though specifics are under wraps for now.

Ross has described solo travel as a voyage of courage and self‑discovery. In interviews, she encouraged viewers to start small—“start by going to dinner by yourself”—and learn to feel comfortable in their own company.

She also shared how solo travel has shaped her approach to life, noting that travel gives her room to “wander, ponder, and be.”
