Three-time Grammy winning gospel artist Tye Tribbett was tapped as the inaugural performer on Shannon Sharpe‘s Club Shay Shay podcast.

The May 15th episode featured comedian and actor Kel Mitchell who bravely shared the highs and lows of his life, shedding light on his personal struggles and triumphs. Mitchell opened up about his relationship with Amanda Bynes and the heartbreak of witnessing her struggles. He also reflected on some of his life’s his darkest moments, including contemplating ending it all amidst issues with his ex-wife and her pregnancy from another man. Despite the challenges, Mitchell revealed how he found solace in his faith and creative endeavors.

To kick off the episode in positivity, Tribbett performed his hit singles, “Be Alright” and “Only One Night Tho.” “I’m listening to the words of the song and thinking about everything that has transpired over the last five years. How do we convince people to lean on the word of God, spiritually and religion that everything’s gonna be alright?” Sharped asked the gospel singer after his performance.

“Well we just have to stay consistent Shay,” Tribbett responded. “If we stay consistent, keep encouraging people, keep speaking the Word they’re going to hit a point in their life where all they have is that hope.”

In addition to this groundbreaking performance, Tribbett has also received an astounding eight nominations for the prestigious Stellar Awards, making him the most nominated artist of the year. This impressive achievement further solidifies Tribbett’s status as one of the most influential figures in contemporary gospel music. “I am deeply grateful for the recognition from the Stellar Awards,” Tribbett remarked. “To receive eight nominations in one year is truly humbling. I’m thankful for the support of my fans, and I look forward to celebrating this during the “Only One Night Tho” Tour, which starts this week!”

Tribbett’s “Only One Night Tho” Tour, produced by Live Nation, begins today, May 16th, at The Met in Philadelphia. The 20-city tour will make stops in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and more! Along the way, Tribbett is excited to announce that he will be joined by his esteemed friends Tasha Page-Lockhart, Jonathan Traylor, Mike Teezy, and Doe.
