Tyrese is an open book about his feelings, and recently he shared that he was “hurt” when Mary J. Blige refused to work with him on music.
Taking to his Instagram Live on Labor Day (Sept. 1), the singer/actor shared that Bilge passed on two of his songs that he sent to her.
“I tried my best to get Mary J. Blige on both songs; she passed on it,” Tyrese said. “It’s okay. I feel a way about it, I’m hurt. I’m really hurt, I can’t lie.”
Although he’s disappointed that the collaboration didn’t happen, Tyrese still expressed his love for the “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul,” calling her legendary. He also shared with his fans that he’s been trying to do a song with Blige for several years.
This isn’t the first time that Tyrese has taken to social media to share his dismay over not working with Blige. In July 2023, Tyrese asked for help as he sought to connect with Blige. He said on Instagram Live that he didn’t have her phone number or email.
”Can someone please help me to get a hold and reach Mary J. Blige? I’ve been trying to reach her for two weeks,” Tyrese’s post read. “I really didn’t want to post this, but I’m really trying to reach my Capricorn queen Mary J. Blige. I have something so important that I need to get to her.”Blige may not want to work with Tyrese because of a previous interaction. During an event in 2022, Tyrese attempted to put his hand on her thigh and she was quick to put him in his place.
