The series will offer a candid portrayal of Brady’s blended family, including his co-parenting relationship with ex-wife Mandie Taketa. Despite their separation in 2008 after nine years of marriage, Brady and Taketa remain “best friends.” They make sure to prioritize the well-being of their 21-year-old daughter, Maile Brady. Brady is also actively involved in the life of Taketa’s 3-year-old son, Sundance-Isamu, whom she shares with her partner, Jason Fordham.
Wayne Brady: The Family Remix promises an intimate exploration of the Brady-Taketa family’s personal life. The show is said to highlight their unconventional dynamics and the challenges they face. According to the official synopsis, the show aims to uncover “unexpected points of view and values that most people… have a hard time understanding,” offering a glimpse behind the scenes of their seemingly idyllic social media posts.
In a teaser shared on Instagram, Brady expressed his excitement for the show, introducing his family as “The Core Four” and highlighting their unique bond. Aside from showcasing his family life, the series will also delve into Brady’s personal journey, including his recent revelation about his sexuality. In 2023, Brady came out as pansexual, sharing his struggle with self-discovery and his desire to live authentically.
