Wendy Williams’ guardian has settled with A&E Television Networks over the documentary about the former talk show host, TMZ reports.
According to court documents, Sabrina Morrissey, Williams’ guardian, and A&E “said they resolved all issues, and the lawsuit was being dropped.”
Both parties filed a joint settlement agreement, bringing a close to the contentious dispute surrounding the controversial project.
In the initial lawsuit, Sabrina sought monetary damages and tried to block the documentary’s release—a request that was ultimately denied. She argued that Wendy was dealing with severe health issues that left her completely incapacitated.
Although courts allowed the broadcast to proceed on First Amendment grounds, Morrissey expanded the suit into a multi-million dollar complaint alleging exploitation. Also, a lack of valid contracts and unauthorized profit off an incapacitated individual.
Where Is Wendy Williams? is a four-part Lifetime docuseries that aired in February 2024. Originally envisioned as a chronicle of the iconic daytime talk show host’s intended comeback following the 2022 cancellation of The Wendy Williams Show. Filmed between late 2022 and spring 2023, the production pivoted drastically as camera crews captured Williams struggling with severe memory lapses, erratic behavior, and physical frailty inside her New York apartment. Rather than documenting a triumphant return to television, the series laid bare her profound health struggles and deep-seated issues with alcohol addiction.

Williams skyrocketed to superstardom with The Wendy Williams Show, a groundbreaking, nationally syndicated daytime talk show that ran for 13 seasons from July 2008 through June 2022. Originally launching as a four-city summer trial on Fox-owned stations, the show quickly exploded in popularity due to Williams’ unfiltered persona, sharp humor, and shock-jock radio background.
Throughout its 13-year run, the show earned multiple Daytime Emmy nominations and became a cultural touchstone. However, the later seasons were increasingly defined by Williams’ personal and health struggles, including complications from Graves’ disease, lymphedema, and severe fatigue. After a series of extended leaves of absence and a roster of guest hosts filling in during the 2021–2022 season, the production company officially brought the series to a close in June 2022.
Williams is currently living in an assisted-living facility.
