Former talk show host Wendy Williams has accused her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., of misusing her finances without her consent. In a recent interview with TMZ, Williams claimed that Kevin Jr. had access to her accounts and took money without informing her.
“My son, he overstepped his boundaries… he was inappropriately using my money without telling me crap about it,” Williams stated.
The accusations surfaced as part of an upcoming documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams?, which explores her ongoing health struggles, financial issues, and legal battles.
Financial Disputes Lead to Guardianship For Wendy Williams
Williams’ claims of unauthorized withdrawals were a key reason Wells Fargo froze her accounts in early 2022. The bank raised concerns that she was being financially exploited, which led to a court-ordered financial guardianship.
“Thank God. No more money stealing from my son and the other people,” Williams remarked about the restrictions placed on her accounts.
Since the guardianship was imposed, Williams has been unable to access her own finances freely. She has expressed frustration over the situation, saying, “I feel like I am in prison.”
Williams’ relationship with her son appears to have suffered due to the financial disputes. Although she acknowledged his good qualities, she also expressed her disappointment.
“My son is a good person, but at this point, he is a horrible person to me,” she said.
Reports indicate that Kevin Jr. has faced financial difficulties, including eviction notices from his Miami apartment due to unpaid rent. Some of his financial struggles have been linked to his mother’s conservatorship, which controls her funds.
The documentary sheds light on Williams’ complex legal and personal battles, raising questions about financial autonomy and the role of guardianships.
As the situation unfolds, Williams’ fans continue to express concern for her well-being, hoping she can regain control over her finances and personal life.
