Album Review: Beyonce’s ‘The Lion King: The Gift’

On July 19th, 2019, Beyonce gave fans a true gift with the release of her latest album, ‘The Lion King: The Gift’. The album, as the Queen calls it, is her “love letter to Africa” and it is something that couldn’t have come at a better time.

Beyonce, who is also the voice of Nala in the live-action remake of the ‘The Lion King’, produced the album herself and have some guest artists featured on it. These artists include Tierra Whack, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Donald Glover, Salatiel, Pharrell Williams, SAINt JHN, Wizkid and more.  As mentioned earlier, this album couldn’t have come at a better time and here’s why because it’s something that everyone can enjoy, especially the children. It allows listeners to embrace and celebrate their culture with the song ‘Brown Skin Girl’, which is an ode to her daughter Blue Ivy.

This album can be known as a direct connection to a heritage that has been one-sided for years throughout history. It takes listeners to new places that have never been imagined before. Thank you, Beyonce for giving fans this album. Listen to the album below.
