America’s Got Talent kicked off season 14 Tuesday night (May 28), and it brought tears to everyone’s eyes – even the judges.

22-year-old Kodi Lee auditioned in front of AGT’s new judge’s line-up, which includes new comer Gabrielle Union, and surprised them after his mother, Tina Lee, shared his story. Slow to respond to questions, Simon, Howie, Gabby, Julianne, and Terry didn’t know what to expect. But the moment Kodi sat down at the piano and played his first note, jaws dropped.

With no hesitation, Kodi began belting out Donny Hathaway’s “A Song for You,” and he sang so effortlessly that audiences would be none the wiser to his personal characteristics.

Before his performance, Kodi’s mom told the judges, “We found out that he loved music really early on. He listened to it, and his eyes just went huge. He started singing, and that’s when I realized, He’s an entertainer!”

She continued, “Through music and performing, he was able to withstand living in this world because when you’re autistic it’s really hard to do what everybody else does. It actually has saved his life.”

After an amazing audition, each judge responded with nothing but praise, then Gabrielle made his dreams come true and hit the famous #goldenbuzzer to let him know he was going to Hollywood!

So go ahead and meet Kodi, and watch his jaw-dropping performance below.
