Talented R&B singer, Brandy, has passed down her talents to her own children. Her daughter Sy’Rai has released her own single and is forming her own lane for herself.
The new single, On My Own is co-produced by Jared “ReezyTunez” Thorne and Keyz Bridgez. Eric Bellinger also co-wrote the track. On My Own is the lead single from her forthcoming debut EP, executive produced by Brandy, who also vocal produced every track.
Brandy has been supporting her daughter’s path. In a 2020 interview with Rated R&B, she touted their b7 collaboration High Heels and discussed how proud she is of Sy’Rai. “She’s a beautiful talent. She’s coming into her own and I’m just here to support her in every way possible,” she said.
In a recent interview, Sy’Rai discussed the sound of her upcoming EP. “I’ve seen my mom in the studio all my life and I’m a perfectionist like her so it has to sound correct,” she said. “I stack like crazy – a lot of melodic, driven music because people like melodies. I have that Brandy sound that people try and get – I can do it and it’s in my genes to be like her. Not trying to be copied but people call me the ‘New Testament’ so people will be surprised by what I’m coming up with.”
Fans are looking forward to hearing more from the singer. The new EP is one that everyone will be on the lookout for.
