Co-Founder Of Dave & Buster’s James “Buster” Corley Dead At 72

James “Buster” Corley the co-founder of the famed “Dave & Busters” has died. 

According to reports, Corley’s death comes from an apparent suicide. A rep of his stated that Corley will be remembered as “an innovative and creative force with a pioneering spirit.” 

The police stated that they were called to James’ home on Monday, his birthday, and found him suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was later taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

The company’s rep also added, “Buster’s passion for hospitality, his demand for excellence, and the deep care he had for his team members were unparalleled. Our hearts go out to his family at this difficult time and while we will miss his wise counsel and his easy laugh, the legacy he and Dave built endures.” 

The very first Dave & Buster’s opened in 1982 in Dallas, Texas by David Corriveau and James Corley. They would go on to open over 140 locations throughout the country. James Corley was 72 years old.
