After two well-produced seasons of FOX’s Lethal Weapon reboot, Damon Wayans announced that he is leaving the primetime show.

Wayans’ announcement comes after his now former co-star, Clayne Crawford aka Detective Martin Riggs, was fired from the show earlier this year. FOX replaced Crawford with Seann William Scott, who many people know as Stifler from the American Pie franchise.

Now, the series is two episodes into its third season, and creator behind the show has to recast another lead.

Damon spoke with eurweb.com, exclusively, to explain his decision to exit stage left. When asked what fans could expect to see in season 3, he left people in shock.

“I’m going to be quitting the show in December after the initial 13 [episodes]. So I really don’t know what they’re planning, but that’s what I’m planning.”

Damon went on to say, “I’m a 58-year-old diabetic working 16 hour days…I’m done.”

There is no word on who might be cast to replace Wayans, but it won’t be long before fans find out because filming for the second half of the season is right around the corner.
