This year’s Super Bowl halftime show may not happen as planned.
According to reports, the reason for this possible decision is because of the current spike in COVID-19 cases across the nation.
The show is slated to take place on February 13th at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. If it is canceled, Dr. Dre will lose millions of dollars because he has reportedly put up most of the money to fund the show.
Brian McCarthy, a spokesman for the NFL, has confirmed that “the league office has already begun provisional discussions with representations from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas about securing the site as a backup plan for Super Bowl LVI.”
The halftime show is set to have performances by Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige.
