Former Child Actor Jonshel Alexander, 22, Shot Dead In A Car

News sources report that child actor Jonshel Alexander, 22, was fatally shot in her car. 

The incident happened in her hometown in Louisiana, New Orleans at the 1500 block of North Claiborne Avenue at about 9:00 p.m. on December 1. According to authorities, Jonshel and another man were shot in a car. Jonshel was pronounced dead at the scene, and the unidentified man drove himself to the hospital and received treatment. Police haven’t released his name.

Another news source claims the unknown shooter aimed for the man Jonshel was with. Jonshel is survived by a daughter. We’ll keep you updated as more details become available. 

 

When Jonshell was 12, she played the role of Joy Strong in the hit movie Beasts of the Southern Wild. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. It was also nominated for four Academy Awards, including best picture.
