Kanye West may be heading to court after it was announced that George Floyd’s family is looking to sue him for comments made about Floyd.
While doing an interview, Ye stated that George Floyd did not die due to former officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on his neck but he died due to overdosing on fentanyl. The comment came as he was talking about Candace Owens’ documentary ‘Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM.”
He said, “They want a tall guy like me. They hit him with fentanyl, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that.” Floyd’s family did not like the rapper’s comments and their attorney Lee Merritt, released a statement about it.
“While one cannot defame the dead, the family of #GeorgeFloyd is considering suit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death. Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl, not the brutality established criminally and civilly undermines & diminishes the Floyd family’s fight.”
