India.Arie has decided to remove her music from Spotify due to Joe Rogan’s comments on race as well as the misinformation on COVID-19.
The R&B singer posted on her Instagram account why she decided to take her music off of the streaming platform. “I have decided to pull my music and podcast from Spotify. Neil Young opened a door that I MUST walkthrough. I believe in freedom of speech. However, I find Joe Rogan problematic for reasons OTHER than his Covid interviews. For me, it’s also his language around race.”
The “Video” singer did not specify what comments of Rogan’s she was referring to, however, reports state that he did say that “it is weird to refer to people as black unless they are 100% African, from the darkest place, where they’re not wearing any clothes all day”
