Issa Rae wears many hats!

The Awkward Black Girl also stars in HBO’s Insecure, which she also created. Issa also appears on and co-executive produces HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show, created by Robin Thede.

On Oct. 18, the Emmy nominated writer partnered with Atlantic Records and launched her label, Raedio. The label also released a new song their first signed artist, TeaMarr, “Kinda Love.”

The video is directed by Ari Lennox and Lucky Daye. Issa and comedian/artist Jessie Woo also makes a cameo.

TeaMarr isn’t new to the music scene. She was an independent artist with singles like “One Job,” and “The One.”

During an interview with Extra, she said at first she was “anti-label,” but when she got wind that Issa wanted to sign her, she couldn’t believe it. TeaMarralso said she has an interest in acting, so she’s in the right hands for that.
