Jada Pinkett Smith Speaks Out About The Oscars Slap Incident

Jada Pinkett-Smith is formally addressing the Oscars slap incident on her latest episode of Red Table Talk as well as bringing awareness to her struggles with Alopecia.

“This is a really important Red Table Talk on Alopecia. Considering what I’ve been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands [of people] have reached out to me with their stories,” the actress said.

She continued, “I’m using this moment to give our Alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what Alopecia actually is.”

The conversation between Jada, her daughter Willow Smith, and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris went to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock and how everyone needs to heal from that incident.

“Now about Oscars night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile. With the state of the world today, we need them both. And we all actually meet one another more than ever,” she said.

Jada added, “Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years- and that keeps figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.”

The episode’s main focus was on Alopecia and they talked about how a 12-year-old girl took her life after being bullied because she had the disease.
