Shemar Moore has never been shy about showing off his physique. However, there is one body part he admits he once kept hidden. The 56-year-old actor recently revealed he has undergone three surgeries on his feet. Moore opened up about the procedures during an Oct. 2 appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”
The “S.W.A.T.” star jokingly admitted that his feet did not always match the image fans have come to expect.
“They’re so bad, I’ve had three surgeries on my feet because God took a nap when he was making my feet,” Moore said.
His problems included bunions, which caused noticeable bumps along the sides of his feet. Moore said the condition became particularly obvious whenever he wore new dress shoes.
After removing them, Moore joked it could be difficult to tell which shoe belonged on which foot.
“You didn’t know which way they were pointing,” he added.
Moore Hid His Feet During His Modeling Days
Long before starring on television, Moore worked as a model. His feet were already a source of insecurity during that period. Moore recalled trying to conceal them while working on beaches. He would bury his feet in the sand when people approached him.
“I used to walk on the beach, no joke, when I was modeling,” Moore recalled.
The former “Criminal Minds” star has joked about his feet before. During a 2024 interview with AARP, Moore listed his feet among the few physical attributes he was not proud of.
“I’ve been blessed, but I’ve got some ugly feet and I cannot sing,” he said.
Eventually, Moore decided to address his feet through surgery. He publicly documented one procedure in 2023. He thanked surgical podiatrist Dr. Robert J. Joseph afterward.
Moore underwent another foot procedure in 2025. At the time, he said staying mobile was about more than appearance. The actor wanted to remain active enough to work and keep up with his daughter, Frankie.
Moore Is Feeling More Confident
After three surgeries, Moore said he is much more comfortable showing his feet.
“I took a couple of my nickels and they got in there and toned it down,” Moore joked.
The procedures have apparently made quite a difference.
“So, now they’re presentable,” he added.
That newfound confidence means Moore no longer feels the same need to hide his feet around pools or beaches. The surgeries also come as Moore continues performing physically demanding work on television.
He has played Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson for nearly a decade across the “S.W.A.T.” franchise.
Moore recently acknowledged that maintaining his action-star physique has become more challenging with age. Still, he has no plans to slow down anytime soon.
