Jay-Z Weighs In On Possibly Performing At The Super Bowl In The Future

Although Jay-Z is the live music entertainment strategist for the National Football League (NFL), fans have continuously spoken out for the rapper to perform at the Super Bowl. Now, he’s finally addressing those requests.

In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, at the premiere of The Book of Clarence, he was asked if he would ever perform at the coveted sports event.

“I don’t know… you know,” Jay-Z answered.  “I thought it would be selfish to pick myself too early, so maybe one year.”

He has held his posotion with the NFL since 2019. He has co-directed the Super Bowl with the league’s long time halftime director, Hamish Hamilton. The rapper just recently brought home his third Emmy Award for the 2023 halftime show featuring Rihanna which broke Super Bowl records.

In the conversation with the outlet, Jay-Z also touched on his legacy with his wife, Beyoncé.

“I think it’s all a part of being creative, you know? Create, you know, in lines,” he shared. “Whether it’s audio, visual, etc. –  you just create and when you love creating. It doesn’t matter the pipeline in which you create.”
