Hosted by the The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), AIDS Walk Atlanta is returning for it’s 32nd year with R&B singers Mya and Ashanti scheduled to headline. Taking place September 23 at Piedmont Park, the walkathon aims to raise money to combat the AIDS epidemic. The goal for this year is to raise $1 million.

According to the website, the “AIDS Walk Atlanta is more than just a walk—it’s a powerful community-driven event that brings people together and inspires change.” The annual event is used as means to educate the community on the once-taboo virus.

With Mya and Ashanti both being 20-year music vets, their stardom hopes to bring excitement and rally the community to action.

Last month Mya celebrated the 20-year anniversary of her Moodring album with a deluxe version. The expanded set features nine additional tracks previously unavailable on streaming platforms. The additional tracks include four remixes of her notable record, My Love Is Like…Wo.”

Ashanti released a single, “Falling For You“, last year. It hasn’t been confirmed if the single is a part of a forthcoming album. In the meantime, she’s been headlining shows – her next one is Sept 24 in Virginia.

Past performers of AIDS Walk Atlanta include Monica, Ludacris, Sevyn Streeter, Wale and Trina.
