We love to see women making history! Sandra Douglass Morgan has become the first black female to become president in the NFL.
It was announced on Thursday by the Las Vegas Raiders that Morgan is their new president. “Her experience, integrity, and passion for this community will be invaluable to our organization,” Mark Davis, the Raiders owner said in a statement.
He continued, “From the moment I met Sandra, I knew she was a force to be reckoned with. We are extremely lucky to have her at the helm.”
According to HuffPost, Morgan is also the first Black person to chair the Nevada Gaming Control Board, between 2019 and 2021. She has also served as a Nevada city attorney, where she worked at Covington & Burling law firm.
Morgan said in a statement, “I have been the first in other positions that I’ve held whether it be city attorney or Gaming Control board.”
She continued, “I definitely never want to be the last and I want to get to the point obviously where there is no more firsts. If I could be an inspiration or help or open doors for any other women or girl out there then that’s an incredible accomplishment for me.”
Sandra Douglass Morgan is the team’s third president over a year after Marc Badain resigned as president in 2021.
