More details regarding “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett’s alleged staged attack has surfaced.
Back in January, the media was in an uproar when they got wind of an alleged hate crime regarding Jussie Smollett, who plays Jamal Lyon in the hit show Empire. It was reported that two men poured bleach on him and allegedly wrapped a rope around his neck, while yelling racial and homophobic slurs.
The Chicago Police Department released a video showing police arriving to Smollett’s apartment, where he greeted them with the noose still wrapped around his neck.
During a conversation with Smollett’s manager he states, “He doesn’t want this to be a big deal, you understand what I’m saying,” Smollett’s manager tells officers on the video. “The thing that makes me emotional is they put this makeshift loop, what do you call that thing, a noose around his neck. I’m sorry, you know. And that is what bothers me; the cut thing doesn’t bother me at all. If that makes any sense.”
Smollett removes the rope once the officers question him about it. He also asks officers to shut their body cams off. See the video below! Let us know your thoughts.
