This is crazy. A Family Dollar has been arrested and could be facing a murder charge over the death of an alleged shoplifter.
The employee, 21-year-old Antonio E. Batres shot the 49-year-old victim at the Houston location on Sunday around 4:30 pm.
Reports state that the Houston police responded to the shooting before the victim was transported to the hospital by the city’s fire department with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was approached by the employees after he attempted to steal from the store. The suspect is currently being held at Harris County Jail on a $75,000 bond and is due in court on Monday.

“Further investigations determined the victim had his back toward Batre, who then pulled out a pistol and shot the victim several times,” the release stated.
