The groundbreaking R&B group TLC is bringing their story to the stage with a new musical titled CrazySexyCool – The TLC Musical. Set to premiere at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., in June 2026, the production will run for eight weeks as part of the theater’s 75th anniversary season.
Bringing The TLC Musical to Broadway
The musical will chronicle the journey of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. Known for hits like “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” and “Unpretty,” TLC became the best-selling American girl group, with over 65 million albums sold. However, their path was marked by financial struggles, including a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and personal conflicts, culminating in the tragic death of Left Eye in 2002.
British actor and playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah will write and direct the musical, with choreography by Chloe O. Davis. The production aims to delve beyond the headlines, exploring the deeper bonds of sisterhood and resilience that defined TLC’s legacy.
