Megan Thee Stallion‘s latest collaboration is a hot one.
The Houston native partnered with Popeyes to create her own “hottie” hot sauce. But the relationship didn’t just stop there, Megan announced this week that she will also have her own restaurant.
“MY VERY OWN @popeyes IS OPENING THIS SUMMER HOTTIES 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I just visited my location while she’s still just bones ❤️🔥🐔 This is abt to be THEE LITTEST Popeyes ever,” the Instagram post from the Grammy-winning “Savage” artist read.
Based on the video Megan shared on Tuesday, the brick and mortar is still a work in progress. “It’s just bones, but in a few months it’ll be chickens,” Megan Thee Stallion said.
“What can we say – we wanted to create the HOTTEST partnership of the year,” says Bruno Cardinali, Chief Marketing Officer for Popeyes. “We have a lot in common with Megan Thee Stallion — from our southern roots, to our shared love for flavor with a lot of spice, she embodies the proud, spirited, joyful and big-hearted personality we embrace with our food and heritage,” says Bruno.
Megan’s latest endeavor follows behind other notable hip hop artists who have crossed over into franchise ownership. Rick Ross owns nearly 30 Wing Stop franchises, Bun B just opened his second Trill Burgers, and Pharrell Williams owns multiple Fatburgers.
She has not shared where her restaurant is located.
Popeyes and Megan Thee Stallion announced she would be a franchise owner in 2021, along with the launch of a sauce — Megan Thee Hottie Sauce — and co-branded merchandise.
“Teaming up with Popeyes is such a milestone in my journey and evolution as an entrepreneur,” Megan shared in a past statement to Vibe. “I’ve always been a fan of the Popeyes brand, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join the brand and help create the new Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce.”
