Megan Thee Stallion was granted her restraining order against fellow rapper Tory Lanez.

During her hearing on Thursday, the Houston-born rapper reportedly gave an emotional video testimony. “I want my restraining order because I haven’t been at peace since I was shot,” she said. She also testified that she doesn’t leave her house often due to harassment and anxiety and because people yell “Free Tory” at her.

“I’m just a nervous wreck all the time,” she said. Megan also added that she is afraid that she will be in danger once Lanez is released from prison. “I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again, and maybe this time I won’t make it.”

Mari Henderson, Megan’s attorney said that her client deserves protection after “being a victim of a violent crime. However, Lanez’s lawyer, Michael Hayden, said that the restraining order, “would constitute an unfair prior restraint on free speech” He added that Lanez has no intentions of contacting Megan and has “no desire to communicate with the petitioner ever again.”

The restraining order will last for five years. Tory Lanez is not eligible for parole until September 2029 and the restraining order will remain in effect until January 9, 2030. Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in August 2023 for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in Hollywood Hills.
