Kim Porter’s best friend, Lawanda Lane, breaks her silence and responds to Al B. Sure’s claims about Porter’s death.
Lane, who had been friends with the late Porter for nearly 30 years and served as a caretaker for her twins, Jessie and D’Lila, shared that she was shocked by the singer’s claims about Porter’s death. Lane’s comments come after Sure’s recent interview with Good Day New York.
During his interview, he said that Porter was in the “best of health,” and that he doesn’t believe that she died of pneumonia. His comments pushed Lane to respond. “Let me be very clear on Kim’s passing,” she said. “Nobody but her closest friends and our children were there. I was in London, my daughter was actually taking care of her everyday. She was sick,” she explained.
Lane continued, “To speak so recklessly on stuff that you know nothing about…you saw that woman [Porter] two months before for an hour. You were not friends, you did not have a discussion — is wrong.”
“No one expected this. My conversation…I hung up, it was fine. We said I love you, we spoke for an hour for things. And then I get a call from my daughter a few hours later, and unfortunately the worst happened to us,” she said about their last conversation.
She also said that Al B. Sure, who shares a son, Quincy Brown with Porter, doesn’t benefit from telling this story about Diddy. Lane also addressed the rumors that Kim Porter was writing a book and had everything on a flash drive. “She was not writing a book. That was not Kim’s mental state about anything,” Lane said. “Her children…she had kids who knew she was not well. I get very upset because I don’t understand how people can just talk about something they have no idea about anything.”
Al B. Sure has claimed that Kim Porter had given him warnings about staying away from Diddy. These claims come as Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently on trial for sex trafficking and racketeering.
