Sean “Diddy” Combs has been seen in public for the first time since beginning his federal prison sentence.
Newly surfaced video shows the music mogul walking through the recreation yard at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey. The brief clip offers a rare look at Combs’ daily life behind bars.
The footage, first published by TMZ, appears to show Combs wearing a light-colored T-shirt, tan shorts, athletic shoes and a baseball cap. The video reportedly was recorded during the afternoon while he was participating in his regular outdoor recreation period.
The clip is only several seconds long. However, it quickly spread across social media as users reacted to Combs’ noticeably different appearance. Many also commented on his gray beard and slimmer frame.
According to TMZ, sources familiar with Combs’ routine said he spends about two hours walking the prison grounds each day when weather conditions allow. The outlet reported his outdoor routine typically takes place between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The report also said Combs has settled into a structured daily schedule while serving his sentence.
The video marks one of the few verified public sightings of Combs since he was transferred to FCI Fort Dix after his sentencing. Previous images circulating online were later debunked as altered or falsely attributed. This latest footage is considered authentic because it was obtained directly by TMZ.
Life at Fort Dix Continues During Appeal
Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence after his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges during his highly publicized federal trial.
His legal team continues pursuing an appeal of the convictions. Attorneys have argued that legal errors affected the outcome of the case and are seeking to have the convictions overturned or reduced.
Since arriving at Fort Dix, reports have indicated that Combs has established a routine inside the low-security federal prison. In addition to daily walks, published reports have stated he has accepted work in the prison chapel and has access to approved entertainment through the institution’s inmate tablet program.
FCI Fort Dix houses thousands of federal inmates and offers outdoor recreation, educational programming and work assignments. Inmates are generally permitted scheduled recreation periods, subject to weather and institutional operations.
The newly surfaced footage has generated widespread discussion online because public images from inside federal correctional facilities are uncommon. While the video provides only a brief glimpse, it underscores the dramatic change in Combs’ circumstances following one of the entertainment industry’s most closely watched criminal cases.
Neither Combs’ attorneys nor the Federal Bureau of Prisons publicly commented on the circulating footage.
Combs remains incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix while his appeal moves through the federal court system. His projected release date remains in early 2028, subject to any future court rulings or earned sentence credits under federal prison policies.
