Hulu’s hit series Paradise is set to heat up in its second season as Ryan Michelle Bathe joins the cast. The Emmy-winning Sterling K. Brown will share the screen with his wife in what promises to be an engaging partnership.
A Power Couple Reunites On-Screen
According to Variety, Bathe, 48, will guest star in season two of Paradise, where her husband stars as Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins. At present, her character details remain under wraps, with producers keeping plotlines tightly confidential. The show centers on a mysterious murder within an elite underground community and stirred audience intrigue during its first season .
This isn’t the couple’s first on-screen appearance together. They previously shared scenes in Army Wives and This Is Us, with Bathe having a memorable arc opposite Brown’s Randall Pearson.
What to Expect in Season Two
Paradise—created by Dan Fogelman—follows a tense post-apocalyptic political thriller narrative. The first season debuted January 26, 2025, and was quickly renewed for a second season in February . Production for season two began in March 2025 in Los Angeles, bringing new faces like Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty alongside Bathe.
Sterling K. Brown spoke with The Washington Post about season one’s intense drama. He emphasized its emotional core and thematic depth, describing the story as a gritty exploration of societal collapse, family bonds, and power dynamics. He hinted at major revelations for season two, addressing the fallout from the shocking season one finale.
James Marsden portrays the president whose death triggers the central mystery, while Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV round out the ensemble.
At the same time, Brown revealed to People that he embraced the show’s demanding physicality, including a bold nude scene. He joked that while he’s comfortable undressed, his wife preferred he wear more clothes.
